Housed in an authentic World War II-era hangar, Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum’s Hangar 37 is home to the artifacts of our collection that tell the story of the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor and beyond. The Pacific Aviation Museum is located in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on historic Ford Island. The museum occupies World War II-era hangars that still bear the scars of our nation’s first aviation battlefield.
Alexander & Associates was commissioned to develop the large format artwork that enhances the visitor experience and brings the exhibits to life. The artwork includes backdrops and dioramas that create authentic looking settings for the aircraft exhibits in the museum’s main gallery.
The collection is housed in Hangar 37, a 42,000 square foot former seaplane hangar that survived the December 7, 1941 attack. Upon entering the exhibit area, visitors first see an authentic Japanese Zero in a diorama setting on the deck of the Japanese carrier Hiryu at dawn on December 7th. Alexander & Associates took an integral part in developing the museums exhibits. Working under the direction of the museum staff to develop the 8th most popular aviation exhibit in the nation.
